DolceSalato talks about us and the solidarity initiative

Today "Dolcesalato" is talking about us!

Dolcesalato is the leading opinion magazine for artisanal pastry , bakery , and ice cream making , also aimed at high-end restaurants and hotels, sensitive to these issues. Current events, surveys, trends, and technical insights are the heart of the monthly magazine, which for over 20 years has served as a reference point for professional development and the discovery of quality products, companies, and people.

Here is the article

Starting November 25th, for every artisanal panettone sold, Giacomazzi 1968 will donate €1 to Giocamico, the volunteer association that works in the hospital's departments.

For the second consecutive year, Giacomazzi 1968 is supporting the Pietro Barilla Children's Hospital at the University Hospital of Parma. For every panettone sold during the holiday season, it will donate €1 to the Giocamico Association , which for 25 years has been working with its staff and volunteers to bring smiles to young patients. Giacomazzi 1968, a historic bakery and pastry company in Parma and its province, has its ovens preheated for the production of its artisanal panettone. And artisanal they truly are: it takes 30 hours of work to transform the first dough with sourdough starter into a finished, packaged product. In addition to the four traditional versions—Candied Fruit and Raisins; Chocolate Chips; Apricot; and Natural Without Candied Fruit—there are two limited editions: one with Lemon and Caramel, the other with Pistachio Chips and topped with pistachio icing.

Everyone can contribute by purchasing the Solidarity Panettone in stores or online on the website www.giacomazzi1968.it with the option of including the artisanal dessert in Christmas baskets or corporate gifts. The initiative promoted by Giacomazzi 1968 will start next Monday, November 20th. The proceeds will be donated to the Giocamico Association in January 2024, immediately after the Christmas holidays, in the hope that the new year will bring an extra smile to many children's faces.

Statements

The association's volunteers and educators have already completed over 40,000 hours of activities in the first nine months of 2023. "Our goal – he explained the founder and president of Giocamico, Corrado Vecchi – is to be available to the hospitalized children and young people and do with them whatever they want at that moment: play, chat, read a book, draw, or even do nothing, respecting their time and mood. We are present every day, morning and afternoon, and three evenings a week with 'Bedtime Stories.'

“For us, Christmas is the holiday par excellence and we couldn't help but think of all those children who cannot experience it in the warmth of their homes because they are ill. – he added Enrico Giacomazzi , Head of Bakery and Pastry -. We have therefore decided to continue our solidarity initiative for the second year in a row, partnering with Giocamico, an association that has been providing valuable support to families and young patients in our city's hospital for years. We are pleased with the results achieved in 2022, which contributed to the purchase of high-flow ventilators, and we hope to improve on them even further this year.

Playmate is a non-profit volunteer organization founded in Parma in 1998. Today, it has 200 volunteers who, every day, conduct recreational activities for the young patients in all departments of the Children's Hospital. This out-of-the-way service transforms the lives of thousands of children and young people who are welcomed into the healthcare facility each year, from the emergency room to the oncology ward, from neonatology to the operating rooms, from intensive care to all pediatric wards.
